Abstract

This study aims to prove the occurrence of the grave pilgrimage tradition
carried out on the Sixth Day Celebration (Aghi Ayo Onam) on the 8th of
Shawwal. Data collection was conducted through interviews. Participants
were asked about the process of grave pilgrimage practices they carried out.
The results showed a pro and contra towards the tradition. The grave
pilgrimage tradition has been naturally passed down through generations in
the community, both from their own families and the local community in
general. Some Islamic scholars view this grave pilgrimage as permissible
(mubah), but there are some groups that disagree or prohibit the tradition.
This study is limited to the perspective of Islamic Aqidah and has not touched
on issues related to other perspectives. It is expected that in the future, other
researchers will have the initiative to continue this study.
